About

Frankie Kadir Vaughan (he/him)
b. 2001, E. Hampton, NY.
writer and artist in performance / sculpture / video / installation

Based in New York, Frankie is an American-Turkish artist, combining his background in performance and video; though he uses any medium to express his thoughts. Exploring how the body has its limits, exploring the idea of belonging, as well as time and space, he curates and produces visual languages that are politically motivated, challenge traditional exhibition practices, and mobilize his frustrations and questions about queer community standards and practices anchored in heteronormative structures and societies.

Currently studying at the State University of New York, Purchase College, Frankie is earning his Master of Arts in Art History with a concentration in Modern and Contemporary Art and Curatorial Practices, as well as his Master of Fine Arts in Performance and Sculpture.

Additionally, Frankie is the Public Arts Coordinator at the State University of New York, Purchase College, as well as the Founder and co-curator of PonyHaus, an emerging queer artists’ publication and hybrid gallery located in New York, NY. He sits on the Public Arts Committee at the Neuberger Museum of Art.
